It looks like we're bring our project back to Los Angeles, we're excited to announce that Awkward Silence will be screening at the Golden Hollywood International Film Festival!
In a town that’s all about the glitz and glamour on the big screen, the Golden Hollywood International Film Festival celebrates talent behind the camera. Touted as “The Director’s Film Festival,” GHIFF focuses on storytellers, specifically directors who create for the emerging world of new media. It takes a village to create and tell the story and our festival recognizes those creative entities who work behind the camera including Producers, Directors, Casting Directors and Director of Photography. Stay tuned for more info including venue and screening date!

We just received word that our film will be screening at the 1904 Deaf Film Festival in St. Louis, MO! It will be a part of the Deaf Visual Arts Festival taking place April 25th - 27th.
This film festival was inspired by the call by National Association of the Deaf (NAD) 6th President, Dr. James L. Smith, to preserve sign language, at its national convention during the World's Fair in St. Louis, Missouri in 1904. At that convention, George W. Veditz was elected as the 7th president of NAD. George W. Veditz led the production of the infamous film, "The Preservation of Sign Language", completed in 1913. In 2010, the film was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress. With the call for "The Preservation of Sign Language", DEAF, Inc. established the 1904 Deaf Film Festival, which will be hosted during its Deaf Visual Arts Festival (DVAF), to champion the emerging deaf filmmaking talents and their work, and at the same time preserve any type of sign languages (domestic or foreign) Stay tune for more updates and festival screenings! We are excited to announce that our film will be screening at the Hong Kong International Deaf Film Festival!
This festival started in September 2010, with the Hong Kong Association of the Deaf, Asian People's Theatre Festival Society and Hong Kong Arts Centre. They worked hand in hand with many Deaf organizations, to staged the first ever Hong Kong International Deaf Film Festival in Asia. They started the festival with the financial support of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, and with a strong determination and belief in equal opportunity and embracing diversity. This is the first time Awkward Silence will be shown over seas. We would like to thank TSWY International Film Festival for inviting us to be part of the US showcase at the festival. Stay tune for more updates and photos from the festival! |
