Can love speak in more than one language?
Aaron and Eva have been dating for almost a year and believe their relationship is headed on the right track. It isn't until a night out, that a misunderstanding comes between their love. Now they must reevaluate their relationship, while reliving the first time they met and the night in question.
Awkward Silence is a short film that hopes to tell an unconventional love story about the tests couples must take, in order to see if their relationship is worth fighting for. The couple in our story will not only face cultural differences, but a language barrier that becomes an obstacle in expressing their love for each other.
The project will be produced by filmmakers that are passionate about storytelling from a unique perspective. We hope to present you a piece of work that will both entertain and inspire. The origin story, everybody has one.One night our director had his picture taken with a good friend, he looked at the photo and thought,"This kinda looks like a movie poster." When he got home he began editing it on his phone with a photo app.
He stared at the picture and tried to figure out a name for his faux movie. He studied their facial expressions, body language, style of clothes, etc. He felt there was an awkwardness between the two subjects, they weren't smiling or even looking at each other. Could they be old friends, long time enemies, family members, maybe perfect strangers? It's as if they were breaking the fourth wall, calling out to the audience for help. Soon the title appeared before his eyes, "Awkward Silence." |
